Person rescued from ice on Kam River

In a release, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue said firefighters responded around 5:30 p.m. after receiving a call about an individual on the ice by the Kam River Park off of Simpson Street who might be in need of rescue.

The person and proceeded to run towards Mission Island, passing underneath the Island Drive bridge and toward the expanse of Lake Superior.
