DENVER – A person is in custody following reports of shots fired in Denver's Capitol Hill neighborhood early Wednesday afternoon.

Denver police shut down the intersection of E. 9th Avenue and Lincoln Street at around 1:30 p.m. following reports of shots fired in the area. One victim was found in connection with the shooting, but police did not release further details about that person’s condition or what led to the shooting in the first place.

Information about a suspect was also not released, but a DPD official said one person had been taken into custody by 4:46 p.m. When asked when the intersection would be reopened, police said they could not provide a timeframe as officers were still working to process the scene.
