The Bay Fair BART station has reopened Wednesday afternoon hours after a train apparently struck and killed a person on the tracks, a BART spokesperson said.
A report initially came in at 12:47 p.m. about a person who may have come into contact with a train at the Bay Fair station, according to BART spokesperson Chris Filippi, who said the Alameda County coroner responded to the scene.BART trains were running through the station without stopping for more than two hours during the emergency response, which prompted the closure of the station. Normal service was beginning to resume as of 3:15 p.m., Filippi said.
During the station closure, Alameda-Contra Costa Transit buses were taking BART passengers to and from the nearby San Leandro and Hayward stations, he said.If you're on the ABC7 News app,
