Coleton Perry’s goal with 5:24 left in the third period proved to be the difference in Game 1 of the West Prince Senior Hockey League championship series on March 22.

Perry snapped a 3-3 tie and lifted the Wellington Flyers to a 4-3 victory over the Kensington Granites before a hometown crowd at the Evangeline Recreation Centre.Read moreFreddy Morency, Owen Arsenault and Evan Gallant also scored for the Flyers. Jake Arsenault, Hunter McTague and Jason Gallant earned assists for Wellington.

Josh MacDonald, Spencer Groom and Parker MacRae countered for the Granites, who received assists from Brodie MacArthur, Dillon Wall and Kayden Peck. The teams were tied 1-1 after the opening period, and the Flyers took a 3-1 lead into the second intermission. The Granites answered with two goals 20 seconds apart just past the five-minute mark of the third period to tie the game.Referees Nick Hann and Nolan Cornish called a total of six minor penalties in the game – four of those against Kensington.
