According to the actor, Percy Jackson and the Olympians was “the second book series [he] ever read.” As such, the books left a “huge impression” on the actor and he is still stunned that he gets to participate in the TV adaptation.
It was the second book series I ever read, I think, and it left a huge impression on me. Like, not just, 'Oh, those books are cool,' but they helped me. I grew up with them, as I'm sure a lot of people did. I can't wrap my head around the fact that I get to be in something that I look up to so much.
How Percy Jackson and the Olympians Will Relate To The Books Percy Jackson and the Olympians is not the first adaptation of Riordan’s modern-classic young adult novels. After the release of the series' debut novel The Lightning Thief, 20th Century Fox picked up the book to make it into the 2010 adaptation Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief.
By casting actors in the age range of the characters, Percy Jackson and the Olympians can more authentically capture the jejune energy of the Camp Half Blood adventures. Simhadri’s words make the series even more promising, as the Grover actor has a deep affinity for the novels that go beyond “Oh, these books are cool.” With that level of passion behind the project, Percy Jackson and the Olympians looks all the more promising.
