A “foreign object” identified as glass may have been found in some Starbucks vanilla Frappuccino beverages that PepsiCo distributes and sells, theThe company issued its voluntary recall on Jan. 28. The recall covers 25,200 cases with 12 bottles per case, which amounts to roughly 300,000 bottles of the chilled coffee drink.

The FDA classified the recall as a Class II, which means the product may cause “temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.” The drinks were distributed nationwide, the FDA notice said. Recalled cases of the 13.7 ounce drinks are marked with 2023 expiration dates of March 8, May 29, June 4 and June 10, according to the FDA.The Frappuccino products are being removed from the marketplace, PepsiCo said in a statement issued on behalf of the North American Coffee Partnership, its organization with Starbucks.PepsiCo, based in Purchase, N.Y.
