ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Steven Wolinetz, president of the Jewish Community Havura in St. John’s, voiced his concerns Thursday about the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.Hamas members invaded southern Israel on Saturday, Oct. 7, and killed more than 1,300 people and kidnapped about 150, of various nationalities.
According to Reuters, since the conflict's onset, the situation has escalated, extending into the West Bank, and Israeli security forces have reported 27 Palestinian casualties during clashes there.'Situation is untenable' Dr. Marilyn Porter, a resident of Brigus who has spent time in the West Bank, offered her perspective on how this crisis resonates with her.
"It's also about bearing witness to the hardships faced by Palestinians due to both settlers and Israeli troops."
