Two strong earthquakes strike southern Iran within 90 seconds, killing at least one person - Iranian officials
Situated on the edge of several tectonic plates and crossing various fault lines, Iran is an area of strong seismic activity. The quakes, measuring 6.3 and 6.4 magnitude, prompted residents to flee their homes and killed at least one person on Sunday, state TV reported.
Iran is crisscrossed by major geological fault lines and has suffered several devastating earthquakes in recent years.
