People at Nanaimo rally call for safety following Sunday's shooting

Hundreds turned out to the Nanaimo rally in Pearson Park Thursday steps from where a man was shot Sunday trying to retrieve some equipment

“We’ve come to a point in Nanaimo where everyone knows someone whose business or home has been broken into, someone who won’t let their kids go downtown anymore, someone whose thinking of moving somewhere safer,” said Tamara Kronis, a Nanaimo resident and former federal conservative candidate. “Clint would be really emotional over the support from everybody but Clint’s a tough cookie and the first thing he’s probably going to say when he opens his eyes is ‘did they get the guy?'” said Chrissy Forsythe, a friend.
