Jaelyne Matthews was the first to commit to Penn State's 2025 class. Now, he's re-opening his recruitment.

Matthews, a 6-foot-6, 273-pound lineman, committed to the Nittany Lions back on Jan. 30 as the first to join the 2025 class. He could still rejoin the class, too. Matthews is ranked as high as the No. 77 prospect in the country, per Rivals. The Toms River North standout also has offers from Georgia, Ohio State, Miami, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Nebraska, among others.
“After much reflection and discussion with my family and mentors, I believe it is in my best interest to explore other options for my academic and athletic future. This decision was not made lightly, and it comes after countless hours of thought and contemplation.
