With the Taylor Swift Eras Tour stopping in Toronto this week and next, Peel police have a warning for those still looking for tickets.
They say there is a scam right now that involves a false sense of urgency to purchase discounted concert tickets. Police say before you buy concert tickets this week in the GTA, you should research where you’re getting the tickets from.Never answer random texts or social media advertising posts for ticket resale.
Plan accordingly; pressure from friends or family can only add to the ‘urgency’ to purchase fraudulent tickets.Meet in person to conduct the transaction at a ‘Buy and Sell Zone’ located at many police station parking lots.Peel police add they would like every concert attendee, their friends, and family to have a fun and successful evening.Anyone with information or questions regarding this type of scam is asked to contact the Fraud Bureau at 453–2121, ext. 3335.
