A pedestrian has died after being struck by the driver of a tow truck in Toronto’s north-west end on Monday night.
A pedestrian is dead after being struck by the driver of a vehicle on Weston Road, near Rogers Road, on Dec. 16.
Toronto Police Service said they were called to that area shortly before 7 p.m. for a personal injury motor vehicle collision. Speaking to the media near the scene, Duty Insp. Brian Maslowski said officers immediately began doing life-saving measures before paramedics arrived.Toronto police later said that the pedestrian, who is a 40-year-old man, was pronounced deceased at the hospital.Maslowski would only say that it is reported that the victim was in the “middle turning lane” of the intersection when he was hit.
“It’s still very early in the investigation, and that’s why we’re seeking the assistance of anyone who was in the area and witnesses. We’re still gathering information,” he said, adding that there was a lot of vehicular traffic in the area at the time of the collision.Drivers should expect road closures and delays in the area near the collision and are being urged by police to drive with caution and according to the weather conditions.
