Pedestrian, 40, suffers brain bleed after being hit by pickup in San Ysidro [Breaking]
A 40-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries when he was hit by a pickup as he was walking in the middle of a San Ysidro street early Wednesday morning, police said.
The pedestrian was heading north in the middle of Mesa Avenue near East Beyer Boulevard around 3:45 a.m. when he was struck by a southbound Ford F-150 pickup, said police Officer David O’Brien. The 27-year-old driver stopped after the collision. Before the crash, the pedestrian and driver both tried to avoid colliding but swerved in the same direction, he said.
The pedestrian was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries including a leg injury and a brain bleed.
