NBCUniversal’s streaming service Peacock raised its prices for the first time Tuesday, as the plethora of rival platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime work to boost revenue and draw in more customers in the competitive streaming wars.... [+]Peacock customers were notified Tuesday that a monthly premium subscription will increase from $4.99 to $5.99, and premium plus subscribers who see mostly ad-free content will face an increase from $9.99 to $11.99 .
An annual premium subscription now costs $59.99, up $10 a year, and a premium plus subscription now costs $119.99 a year, a $20 increase.Peacock now charges the same as rival streaming service Paramount+, but remains cheaper than Hulu , Max , Netflix and Disney+ . Meanwhile, Amazon Prime Video is free for customers who pay $14.99 per month for a Prime membership and is also available on its own for $8.99.
