The Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) and Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM) held an exploratory meeting for a possible collaboration that will uplift the urban poor and informal settlers sectors.

The Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor and Commission on Population and Development held an exploratory meeting for a possible collaboration that will uplift the urban poor and informal settlers sectors.In a discussion held Wednesday, Feb. 15, POPCOM said that it is ready to participate in PCUP’s caravan activities and Capability Building Programs to also strengthen its initiatives and strategies for the population’s socioeconomic development.

PCUP Undersecretary Elpidio R. Jordan, Jr. also presented the commission’s banner programs to POPCOM Deputy Executive Director Mr. Lolito R. Tacardon. Follow-up meetings will be conducted to discuss details of the proposed PCUP Satellite Office program that will help in Urban Poor Data Generation, PCUP said.

Also present at the meeting were PCUP Special Assistant for Internal and External Affairs Jimmy Uy, PCUP Project and Policy Development Unit Head Yvelen Moraña, PCUP Technical Staff Danica De Guzman, POPCOM Executive Assistant Rosa Blanca R. Enrique, POPCOM Planning Officer Philip Amiel Lopez, and POPCOM Project Evaluation Officer Sarah Jalilal.
