The blueliner will be out at least a week with a bone bruise in his ankle, the Canucks say.

It was a burning question — would the Canucks preserve Quinn Hughes’s expansion draft exemption by playing him in no more than 10 games this season? — but it’s no longer an issue.

The bone bruise in his foot, as revealed by Wednesday’s MRI, will now keep him out of action through at least the weekend, meaning he can play nine games at most.
