CORNER BROOK — Just before 10 a.m. on June 2, 30 of the 109 patients to be moved from the old Western Memorial Regional Hospital to the new one were getting settled into their rooms.

In addition to use for patient care, things like the lighting and temperature can be controlled by touch on the screen and patients will be able to check the weather, access the internet and order food.
“We’ve been in regular contact with every family. There’s a team of volunteers that are contacting families and advising them when their loved one is in the planned location,” she said.
