Environment Canada is forecasting significant snowfall for parts of northwestern Ontario beginning Thursday night into Friday morning. A snowfall warning was issued early Thursday for Thunder Bay and areas west toward the Manitoba border.

Environment Canada is forecasting significant snowfall for parts of northwestern Ontario beginning Thursday night into Friday morning.

About 15 to 25 centimetres of snow is expected beginning Thursday night, but the weather agency said the highest snowfall amounts will likely cover areas of higher terrain, especially near Thunder Bay. Peak snowfall rates of 2 to 4 centimetres of snow is expected. The snow is anticipated to taper by Friday morning.
