Lime is asking the same question.“When you hear of kids at 8 years old out stealing cars or hear of an 11-year-old out at 2:30 in the morning vandalizing, causing $5,000 worth of damage at the concession stand at Michael A Ries Ice Arena, come on.
Earlier this week, she introduced a new ordinance increasing the first offense for violating juvenile curfew to a fourth-degree misdemeanor with added offenses becoming third-degree misdemeanors.“That’s the idea behind it.” Parma Police Lt. Daniel Ciryak said in 2022 the city reported 28 curfew-related calls resulting in two citations.“Parma’s curfew is 10 p.m. for kids ages 16 and under and midnight for 17-year-olds,” he said.So far in 2023 there have been 20 related calls with five citations issued.“I would be very surprised if there were any issues with council members on this,” Lime said.
