The couple are demanding Shrey Sagar, 35, and his wife Shubhangi Sinha, 31, pay compensation worth nearly £525,000 if no grandchild is born within a year.Mr Prasad told the paper he spent all his savings on his only son, who lost his job in 2007 and was supported financially by his parents.The parents said they hoped the couple’s arranged marriage in 2016 would give them a grandchild to play with, TOI reports.
Mr Prasad added that he paid for his son's pilot training in the US which cost $65,000, his wedding at a five-star hotel and a car worth £63,000.
