Tucker Dansie’s son spent 25 hours on his Xbox in one week and his daughter plays “Animal Crossing” for hours; now he worries about how to wean his kids off the games. “I don’t know how we’ll handle that, to be honest.”
Tucker Dansie, a father of five near Salt Lake City, relaxed the normally stringent screen-time limits he had for his kids once the coronavirus shutdown began. Now, like many parents who are several weeks into working from home while caring for children, he fears the extra non-school screen time has gotten to be too much.
He increased his kids’ daily screen-time allowance up from one to four hours. “I never thought they’d hit that and now they are—and they want more,” said Mr. Dansie, a postproduction manager for his church.
