Paradise teen Jaxson Rowe is competing for his home province in the pool at the 2022 Canada Summer Games being held in the Niagara region Aug. 6-21. Contributed photoFor the last several months, the 15-year-old from Paradise has been honing his craft at the Ontario Swimming Academy in Toronto, Ontario.
Starting next week, Rowe will be back in Ontario as a member of Newfoundland and Labrador’s contingent in the pool for the 2022 Canada Summer Games, being held in the Niagara region. “I had a really good swim in Montreal, which I was really happy with and I'm hoping I can bring that to Canada Games,” said Rowe.
He followed that up with a 200-m individual medley swim in the same age division that broke another provincial record. His time in that race was 2:14.14 and beat the record previously set by Owen Daly in 2013.Rowe also secured a bronze medal at the 2022 Junior Canadian Championships in the 200-m freestyle event.
