The Globe spoke to Pulo about her new role and what audiences can look forward to from the family musical this holiday season
Julio Pulo steps into Dorothy’s Ruby Blundstones. The beloved annual Ross Petty Productions’ pantomime is back at the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre.
“I have no prior experience with pantos – this is absolutely brand new to me, so I’m learning a lot and experiencing a lot of things for the first time,” says Pulo, who made her professional debut as Anne Boleyn in Mirvish’s recent Toronto production of. “It’s so awesome to see all the traditions and learn about all the callbacks and audience participation.”audiences can look forward to from the family musical this holiday season.
The non-linear process has created a lot of moments of goofing around that have ended up being part of the show. The script grew from us learning how to play and improv and riff off each other. It’s been very cool to be part of the writing process and the conceptualizing of what our plot and our, what has it been like changing gears for your role as Dorothy?
