Despite having to raise prices due to inflation, San Antonio's El Paraiso Ice Cream Shop has received an influx of supportive customers.
PUBLISHED 11:41 AM CDT May. 23, 2022SAN ANTONIO — When Miguel Miranda was loading his paleta cart, he recalled how long he’s been a paletero for El Paraiso Ice Cream Shop on San Antonio’s West Side. The shop has been around since 1984, and the sweet sound of the plastic wrapping echoes through El Paraiso. Miranda also runs the line in the back where the paletas are made, but he loves both aspects of his job.
“For that reason, I raised the prices per paletas. They raised the prices on everything — milk, fruit, everything,” Flores said.
