The father told investigators he forgot his son was in the car when he went to work.
The charges were not available in online court dockets, but KDKA confirmed that a warrant was issued for Khang Nguyen through his attorney. The charges are in connection with his son Kayden Nguyen’s death.
Khang Nguyen told police he went to work and “inadvertently forgot” his son was in the car, KDKA reported. The medical examiner ruled the boy’s death was accidental by hypothermia. Attorney Bill Difenderfer, representing Nguyen, previously said he was happy with the medical examiner’s findings, telling KDKA “there’s no question it is a horrific accident.”
