“I was really excited for because it was a big opportunity for her because she loves to sing and sings everywhere she goes,” Shaw told SaltWire Network after P.E.I.’s 8-0 win over the Northwest Territories. “To be fair, Haven kind of got a bit of the spotlight as well and that’s awesome for her. I’m very happy for her.”
“It’s a one-in-a-million opportunity,” said Shaw, describing what it means to play on the ice surface where he learned to skate and play hockey. “The last Winter Games was in ’91. It’s a pretty low percentage to be here, especially being in my home rink. That is pretty special.
