RCMP arrested a 52-year-old man during a safe boating enforcement operation during the Labour Day weekend near Cornwall.CORNWALL, P.E.I. — A 52-year-old man was arrested during a police boating operation during the Labour Day weekend near Cornwall.
On Sept. 4, shortly after 5 p.m., officers stopped a group of small boats for a routine safety inspection while patrolling on West River, near Cornwall, RCMP said. During the check, police said officers noticed that one of the vessel operators was showing signs of impairment. Police said the operator of the vessel, a 52-year-old man from Queens County, refused to provide a breath sample for testing and was subsequently arrested.Police arranged for the vessel to be safely transported to shore.
