Sombra is getting a major rework in Overwatch 2. Blizzard has revealed the details of her latest kit, which includes a new ability and big changes to some others.
. One of the biggest updates is the long-awaited Sombra overhaul, and Team 4 has revealed just what’s in store for the hacker.
Sombra’s current passive, Opportunist, is going away. That’s the ability that allows her to peer through walls and see any enemy with less than 50% health. You’ll still be able to see enemies through walls if they’ve been hacked.Well, if you guessed that Stealth is Sombra’s new passive, you’d be correct. She will now automatically become invisible after a cooldown when she’s not using her abilities, dealing damage or taking damage. That’s a big change.
More details are on the way about Sombra’s new kit in another blog post. But those are significant changes that will fundamentally alter how Sombra is played. She might be a little easier for supports to deal with in the backline if she can’t instantly teleport halfway across the map anymore. Meanwhile, there’s the promise of “massive” balance changes elsewhere. Blizzard is taking away Mei’s Deep Freeze passive and returning her to her previous kit in Season 7. As a long-time Mei main, this news upsets me deeply. Among the other heroes getting balance changes are Zarya, Orisa, Ramattra, Wrecking Ball, Cassidy, Torbjorn, Brigitte and Illari.
