A municipal truck involved in a seven-vehicle accident overturned on a New Jersey freeway Wednesday afternoon, injuring 12 people and causing massive traffic and transit delays for travelers trying to leave New York City ahead of the Fourth of July holiday.
The accident happened shortly before 1 p.m., ending with the truck upside down on part of the westbound side of Route 495 near the Lincoln Tunnel, which connects New Jersey and Manhattan, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
