It's absolutely crazy. First of all, the fans are amazing. We have such great fans. The amount of people who are talking about being a Pogue and doing the things that we do on the show, it's just unbelievable to see. It's honestly a dream. I could not have imagined the type of reception that the show's going to get.It's always kind of intimidating when you're stepping into the world of a leading role. I've trained my whole life for this kind of opportunity.
Even people who you think are on the same playing field will be above you just because of where you are socially. And it was like that with distance, you have to work harder than everybody else around you. There are people who are above Pope, even though he's got all this talent, he's smart, and he should be automatically accepted into any school he wants just based off his grades. But he can't. That's just how the island works.
When he leaves that first time, he was gone from his house for three days. To put that into perspective, could you imagine not telling your family where you're going? Leaving the house and then not calling them for three days before you had the most important moment of your life? It's an absolutely insane thing. I think he's struggling to find his path within his look and his ego. I think at the end of the day, family is what's most important to him.I don't know.
