The Outdoor Retailer convention is returning to Salt Lake City for a second time this year after a five-year hiatus due a boycott on Utah lawmakers' stance on land management. emmarileytv

They hope the return to Salt Lake City will continue to generate millions of dollars.

“We are really proud to drive that sort of impact here, and we are hoping as we are back over time there, we will be able to deliver the same kind of impact going forward," said Jeff Davis, vice president of Emerald Action Sports and Outdoor Group. Organizers decided to return the convention to Utah in January, for the first time in five years, after finishing up their contract in Denver.

“Back in January when we were here, some people would go up and ski in the morning and they’ll be down here on the trade show floor after lunch, which is super fun. It's one of the advantages of Salt Lake City," Davis said.
