“In Canada, homicides remain relatively rare events,” said the report’s authors, Jean-Denis David and Brianna Jaffray, of the Canadian Centre for Justice and Community Safety Statistics. • Most homicides involved firearms — and almost half of those incidents were connected to gangs, while stabbings and beatings were also common methods of killing
The study found that the most gang-related killings in 2021 were recorded in Toronto , Vancouver and Montreal .
