After tough couple of years, Bralon Addison excited about return to Ottawa Redblacks
The Ottawa Redblacks receiver not only wants to play soon , he also wants to be really good at what he does on the football field again. How good can he be? Hit the rewind button to 2019 when Addison, then with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, had 1,236 yards in catches, with seven touchdowns. He also
he played in eight games, making 43 catches for 433 yards before a torn Achilles ended his year. Then he fell down stairs and needed a second surgery in October.Article content“It’s been tough, really tough,” Addison said. “Without the people I’ve got in my corner, who knows where I would be mentally and emotionally. I love this game so much. I love being able to compete. Having to deal with injuries and the pandemic and not being able to play, it’s been tough.
Surprisingly released by the Ticats just before training camp in May, the 29-year-old quickly agreed to a deal with the Redblacks. Asked about coming off an Achilles injury, he said: “When I came off the ACL injury, it was more about believing the ACL was healthy. With this injury, it’s more like you have to train yourself again to be able to do certain things you’re doing without thinking. The first week I was out here, it was a big shock for me. There were things I normally can do that I had to try harder to do. It’s an ongoing process, I’m working better at working to get better every day.
