An Ottawa man charged with three terrorism offences and accused of advocating a violent far\u002Dright ideology was released on bail Tuesday under a number of restrictive conditions.
Macdonald is alleged to have participated in and facilitated the creation, production and distribution of three terrorist propaganda videos supporting Atomwaffen Division. The material was intended to promote the group and recruit members, police said, and “encourages the commission of terrorist activities.”
He is allowed to leave for medical emergencies involving himself or one of his immediate family members and must be in the direct presence of one of his sureties at all times when he is outside the residence. He is not allowed to possess any weapons or imitation weapons. He is not allowed to possess any electronic devices capable of accessing the internet without supervision.Macdonald will be fitted with a GPS monitoring device and must abide by all the rules and protocols associated with the tracking device.
Public Safety Canada said the Atomwaffen Division called for acts of violence against racial, religious, and ethnic groups as well as informants, police and bureaucrats to prompt the collapse of society.
