An Oshawa man is facing several charges, after Durham police uncovered a loaded gun at a RIDE checkpoint.
On Thursday morning, officers had been stopping vehicles in the King Street East and Townline Road area.Police say the driver was charged after failing a roadside screening.Mascud Asser, 27, is charged with impaired operation, possess loaded restricted/prohibited firearm, occupy motor vehicle with firearm and possess restricted/prohibited firearm no licence or registration.Anyone with information is asked to call PC Birmingham at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5100, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 .
