Ottawa Senators\u0027 owner Michael Andlauer and the group he\u0027s assembled in the last 10 months are confident they\u0027ve built themselves a winner.

We trust each other,” Tullio told Postmedia during an interview Friday following the formal press conference.
Postmedia has reported that Tullio offered to buy the Senators from the late Eugene Melnyk for $650 million before he passed away in March 2022. Tullio didn’t confirm he made that offer, but did say he had discussions with Melnyk, however, he wasn’t interested in selling the team. “We both decided to go down the path and see where it went and maybe near the end we’d come together. That’s what we did,” Tullio said. “I spoke with Kimel, I spoke with Steve but at the end of the day Michael told me, ‘Just come on in with us.’It doesn’t hurt that Andlauer knows his way around the boardrooms in the NHL. He was alternate governor for the Montreal Canadiens and attended meetings, so he knows what it takes.
“We all want to make the fan experience second to none. We want to embrace them like we have in Hamilton and in Oshawa. It’s the same with our players, I think if you call guys like Michael Del Zotto or Boone Jenner, who played in Oshawa, or players who played for Michael.Tullio said the chemistry in the ownership group is strong.
