ORANGE, Ohio - An Orange police officer was taken to the hospital Wednesday morning after getting into a physical altercation with a hotel guest, police said.

According to Orange Village Lt. Mike Roberts, police were called to the Extended Stay America Hotel in the 3800 block of Orange Place around 11:52 a.m. for an unwanted guest that was being disrespectful to staff. When the officer arrived, Lt. Roberts said the officer and the 26-year-old suspect got into an altercation and the officer deployed his taser.

The suspect was taken into custody and was transported to UH Ahuja Medical Center. His name and condition are not being released.Lt. Roberts said no charges have been filed at this time.
