Statewide, hospitalizations among COVID-19 patients have been relatively flat for the last six weeks. But in Orange and Ventura counties, hospitalizations are again on the rise.
COVID-19 hospitalizations are beginning to tick up in places such as Ventura and Orange counties, leading officials in some areas to slow reopening.Los Angeles County public health officials on Wednesday reemphasized the need for people to maintain physical distance, wash their hands and continue wearing face coverings as more public spaces reopen.
Hospitalizations have also remained steady, officials said. Meanwhile, Orange County reached a new milestone in hospitalizations this week.that residents wear face coverings in public, 328 people were being treated at a hospital for issues related to the coronavirus as of Monday, the most recent data available. This marks the highest reported number in the county since the onset of the pandemic. County data also shows that 131 of those people were being treated in the intensive care unit.
Despite the uptick in hospitalizations, Orange County Board of Supervisors Chair Michelle Steel indicated on Wednesday that county leaders have no plans to slow reopening.
