Highway has been reopened
Calling the incident “serious”, Nipissing West Ontario Provincial Police detachment officers were dispatched to the scene just after 9 a.m. today, as were members of the Cartier Fire Department and Manitoulin-Sudbury Paramedic Services.
The two-vehicle collision occurred in Muldrew Township near Elboga Lake, between kilometre-marker 78 and 79.One driver was transported to hospital by Air Ornge, with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The highway was closed in both directions during the investigation and the removal of the vehicles, but has now been reopened.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation and further details will be provided when they become available.
