Lanark County OPP is looking for tips in a probe of “vulgar, racist and homophobic vandalism” that’s being investigated as incidents of hate or bias crime.
There have been several incidents of graffiti and damage to residential and commercial property dating back to July, the detachment said in a release Thursday.Anyone with information was asked to call Lanark County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Lanark County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 if they want to remain anonymous.
Hate and bias-motivated crimes are criminal offences committed against a person or property that’s motivated, either solely or in part, on the race, national or ethnic origin, language, colour, religion, sex, age, mental or physical disability, or sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression of the victim, police said.Article content
