Ye Olde Mailbag: Carlisle's Canadian tribute, sign-and-trades and the best of sports
Enjoy before the early Raptors-Wizards game.Q: Hey Doug. I was at the Indiana Raptors game Wednesday. As you know the Raptors were terrible. However the highlight was Rick Carlisle starting the 3 Canadians - Nembhard, Brissett and Mathurin. I’ve always liked Carlisle a coach. Do you think he did this realizing its significance or was this just another starting lineup ?A: It was 100 percent intentional on Carlisle’s part because he knew the significance of the moment.
It is the best of sports and I think what also makes it so special is that the tournaments only come around every so often so they’re never stale. I do hope and expect that this will both shorten the games and keep it interesting, my pet peeve has always been the stepping out and undoing/ refastening batting gloves.
I know they were concerned mainly with time but I bet scoring’s up because you’ll see more single, stolen base, single runs, I bet. 2) In all likelihood, the Raps will need to win one game against the Wizards, Hawks, or Heat . After that, it's either the Bucks or Boston. Quite the road...thoughts?
