Vancouver will soon host the world’s largest conference on gender equality and the health, rights and wellbeing of women and girls. Women Deliver on June 3 to 6 is much more than a conversation about gender equality, it is a global movement and call to action for everyone in Canada to drive change in their lives and communities.

When comparing overall earnings, women in Canada still earn just 69 cents on the dollar annually compared to men. This gap isn’t just damaging our wallets; it’s linked to health outcomes, particularly mental health. The conference is an important event to support this dialogue. However, it should be used as a springboard. Women Deliver 2019 Mobilization Canada is a grassroots movement that is providing an opportunity for all Canadians to learn more and speak up about the gender gaps that exist in Canada in three key areas where progress is most needed: gender responsive health systems and services; gender-based violence; and women’s economic empowerment and equal opportunity.

Events and discussions are being organized across Canada leading up to the conference and beyond. No matter where you are in Canada, you can take part in this dialogue and have your voice heard.
