Opinion: United States service members deserve our support [Opinion]
We think of these challenges as part of a humongous federal bureaucracy and as individual family stories, but as Rep. Sara Jacobs shared, they are central to our national security and rarely get attention.
It was clear to me as I dealt with these concerns over a 20-year period during our war footing that military families serve with great humility. The support from a grateful nation must come with real help for everyday challenges unique to their oath and commitment. Where would our country be if women and men who serve in multiple national security positions decided against the sacrifice of service? Their quality of life matters.
