Opinion: San Diego needs homelessness plans that will actually work [Opinion]
Even the state of California has strongly opposed any changes to the current law. In other words, this proposal is dead on arrival. And the crisis will continue until our leaders come up with solutions that have at least a chance of some success.I have an idea of one place that could be used as a homeless shelter.
The old San Diego Library Downtown recently opened aThis is a large, three-story building, which I guess is otherwise sitting empty. Open it all up. We can do better than this. Getting people off the street needs to be the priority before a new City Hall or anything else. Already so much taxpayer money has been wasted on the Ash Street fiasco. Think how many shelters that could have provided.
