And the crowd of angry protesters yelling obscenities probably made them more nervous than usual.
Calls for rebranding are not new. We heard the same from Conservatives when Andrew Scheer and Erin O’Toole quit. Still, evolving a brand to make it more appealing to new users is common practice in marketing. It doesn’t require a drastic shift in positioning. Rather, it’s a gradual shift in some attributes of the brand. Like an automotive brand known for being the ultimate driving machine evolving its promise to become the ultimate experience — the experiential benefit of driving one., the Conservatives’ brand was seen as old, traditional, and closed.
The Liberal party was seen as “open-minded, creative, diverse, good, and ambitious,” but also “a liar, dishonest, corrupt, untrustworthy.”
