Opinion: I've honored and celebrated labor leader Cesar Chavez every year since kindergarten [Opinion]

When we were in the streets celebrating Cesar Chavez in the neighborhood, the kids from Balboa Elementary and the people from our neighborhood came out to celebrate Cesar Chavez with us. I had a lot of fun that day.

In third grade, we did a hybrid event to celebrate Cesar Chavez. It was hybrid because some students went to school but some were still using Zoom. We saw videos with some activities to learn about him. We had Google Classroom activities with some Cesar Chavez learning sites. I felt sad because I wanted to see my friends and celebrate Cesar Chavez in the class, with my school and in the neighborhood.

When we came back to the class, we wrote a Cesar Chavez biography. It was about his life and his achievements.
