Many of the bears being shot are being given a mercy of sorts as many are nowhere near fat enough to survive winter hibernation and will most likely die starving or freezing to death.
We’ve had an incredibly bad bear season this year all due to the heat wave destroying the bears normal food sources. With several dozen or so bears having been destroyed in the city this year and the bleeding hearts and Disney Princesses cannot understand why the bears are being destroyed rather than relocated.
Many of us have gone to extreme measures to secure our garbages from bear. My garbage is secured with bungee and ratchet straps, others bring their actual garbage into the house or hang their cans in the air or even wrap their cans in chains all to stop the bears. First off, bears that have been habitualized to human food will invariably become more aggressive over time and eventually food in the house becomes more appetizing and bears will do anything to get at it. That means it’s now classified as a dangerous bear and therefore must be destroyed as it sees human food as its primary source now and are rarely successfully relocated due to knowing humans will be a good source for food.
The other issue is many of the bears being shot are being given a mercy of sorts as many are nowhere near fat enough to survive winter hibernation and will most likely die starving or freezing to death. Bears need a thick layer of fat to nourish them through winter and protect them from the cold and from what I’ve seen thus far many bears won’t be surviving the winter mostly due to starvation and freezing to death.
The bleeding hearts and Disney Princesses need a wake up to reality and if you can’t handle reality go live with your head buried in the sand because this is real life, not a Disney movie.
