Opinion: 30th Street bike lanes have their fans and foes [Opinion]
Turmoil over San Diego’s 30th Street bikeway continues to roil North Park
I think the article stating that 100 to 200 people a day and 8,000 people since Jan. 21 have used the 30th Street bikeway is extremely exaggerated. My surprise is that the article claims that there have been more than 8,000 bikers passing by the bike counter since Jan.21. It is a rare day when I’m not on 30th Street for some reason, and even rarer is seeing a bike in the bike lanes. Much more likely is seeing bikes on the sidewalks. I would doubt a claim of 800 bikers, much less 8,000, since January 21.
