Teen sentenced in crash that killed two children
A 17-year-old boy has been sentenced to a year in an open-custody facility and six months of community supervision in a crash that killed two children in Vaughan, Ont., north of Toronto.
They say he pleaded guilty in December to two counts of dangerous driving causing death and one of dangerous driving causing bodily harm. Two of the victims, identified by their parents as 10-year-old Anaya Chaudhari and four-year-old Jax Chaudhari, died in hospital. The other, a neighbour, was injured.
“A few seconds, just a few seconds, transformed this day, shattered our family and changed our entire existence,” Patel said through tears.
