Ontario is reporting a slight week-over-week decline in hospitalizations and five net new deaths tied to the virus.

On Tuesday, health officials said 512 people in hospital have tested positive for COVID-19. That is an increase on the 383 hospitalizations reported on Monday, though that number was an incomplete census due to the fact that some hospitals don’t report occupancy data over the weekend. At this time last week there were 526 people in hospital testing positive for COVID-19.

Intensive care occupancy remains steady with six more patients seeking care due to the virus since a day earlier, bringing the number of admissions to 116. Officials are reporting five net new deaths due to COVID just a day after the province logged no additional fatalities for the first time since early May.
